Clarifying battery configurations: Series vs. Parallel
The EI Battery Storage system utilizes specific battery configurations that installers should understand for optimal performance. Each string consists of two batteries connected in series, with each string connecting to the EI Inverter. The guide illustrates configurations for both two and four batteries.
Two Batteries: Two batteries are connected as 2 strings of 1 battery
Four Batteries: Four batteries are connected as 2 strings of 2 batteries. In a 4-battery configuration, each string is connected in series using the right side wiring boxes.
Ensuring proper terminating plug installation
Terminating plugs play a crucial role in the battery expansion process, especially when using multiple battery cabinets. Here's what you need to know:
Single Battery Enclosure: If installing only one battery enclosure, a terminating cap is required in the COM port in the battery expansion wirebox
Multiple Battery Cabinets: For systems with 2 or 4 battery cabinets, refer to the diagrams in Section 1.2 of the full manual for specific terminating plug placement. Ensure the terminating plug is installed in the CAN terminal on the right side wiring box.
For visual guidance, the guide includes diagrams showing the correct placement of terminating plugs in both two and four-battery cabinet setups. Always ensure that the terminating plug is installed in the Link-In terminal of the top battery module.
