TS4-A-2F, Tigo's newest rapid shutdown solution for commercial rooftops
Now that most states in the country require module level rapid shutdown systems to meet the 2017 and 2020 National Electric Code (NEC), homeowners, commercial building owners, and PV industry professionals are looking for reliable ways to meet the requirement while providing optimal returns for their customers.
To meet this objective, Tigo recently released the newest addition to its family of Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) solutions, a dual module rapid shutdown device called the TS4-A-2F. The 2F builds on Tigo’s 13 years of experience with MLPE to deliver the most cost-effective rapid shutdown solution for rooftop PV.
In short, the 2F has the lowest installed cost per watt in the business. Key attributes include:

Half the MLPE hardware
- One 2F serves two PV panels
- Handles up to 1,000W (500W per input) and a standard configuration of up to 1500Vdc
Faster installations
- 16% fewer connections required on an average string of 14 panels (vs single input MLPE)
- Unit installation labor cut in half
- Increased reliability from fewer connections; uses standard MC4 connectors
- Quickly mounts onto the back of panels in seconds using the proven TS4 form factor
Plug and play functionality with all major inverter manufacturers
- System (Rapid Shutdown MLPE and inverter) is UL certified and tested with hundreds of inverters (residential and commercial)
- Many inverters have a built-in Tigo Rapid Shutdown System (RSS) transmitter
- Works with all the major module manufacturers
Scales with all rooftops
- The same unit works with commercial and residential solutions
- Enables streamlined training and education
Proven solution
- Shares the same architecture as the TS4-F with millions of units installed
