What does Module Degradation mean?

Module degradation is the gradual reduction in a solar module’s output capability over time.

Does module degradation eliminate clipping?

Degradation can reduce output over many years, but it does not automatically erase clipping or justify every design trade-off. Modern modules may retain a high percentage of their rated output for decades, so clipping should still be evaluated thoughtfully.

How it relates to Tigo

Tigo’s Microinverter Tax discussion notes that long-term module performance matters when estimating lifetime clipping losses.
