What does Equipment Tax mean?

Equipment Tax is Tigo’s term for the extra hardware, inverter capacity, wiring, and service complexity that can come with AC architecture solar-plus-storage systems.

Why can more solar equipment create more complexity?

More components can mean more wall space, more breaker space, more wiring paths, more roof electronics, and more potential service touchpoints. Sometimes more gear is necessary. Sometimes it is just the system architecture wearing a very expensive backpack.

How it relates to Tigo

Tigo uses TS4 optimizers with hybrid inverter and battery products to support a more consolidated DC architecture for solar-plus-storage systems.
