What does East-West Array mean?

An east-west array is a PV layout with modules facing both east and west, spreading production across morning and afternoon hours.

Why do installers use east-west arrays?

East-west layouts can make better use of roof space and create a broader production curve. The system may generate less at solar noon than a single ideal orientation, but more during morning and evening windows that can matter for load offset and utility rates.

How it relates to Tigo

Tigo’s Microinverter Tax materials use mixed-orientation examples to explain aggregate power smoothing and clipping behavior.
