What does Battery Inverter mean?

A battery inverter converts battery DC power to AC power for use by loads or the grid and may also convert AC power to DC to charge the battery.

When does a system need a battery inverter?

Some storage architectures use a separate battery inverter, while hybrid inverters can manage solar and battery energy in a single unit. Fewer inverter boxes can simplify installation, wiring, and service.
