Earn Revenue Through New York Demand Response Programs

Eligible Tigo customers can participate through Leap in three New York demand response programs: the utility Distribution Load Relief Program (DLRP), Commercial System Relief Program (CSRP), and the NYISO Special Case Resources (SCR) capacity program. This page covers NYISO Zone I, Zone J, and Zone K. Program availability varies by utility territory: Leap offers DLRP and CSRP in Con Edison and PSEG Long Island territories, while the supplied 2026 enrollment information lists SCR through Con Edison.

How the Programs Work

DLRP supports local grid reliability and may call events with at least two hours’ notice. CSRP targets forecast peak demand and generally provides day-ahead notice. Both operate from May through September. SCR is a NYISO capacity program with summer and winter capability periods and generally provides day-ahead notice. Leap aggregates participating sites, communicates events, measures performance, and manages utility or NYISO settlement.

Incentive and Eligibility

  • Leap’s 2026 estimates show annual revenue potential of approximately $16–$81 per kW-year for DLRP or CSRP, depending on utility and location.
  • Leap estimates SCR annual revenue potential at approximately $86 per kW-year in Manhattan, NYISO Zone J, and $28 per kW-year in other zones, based on historical average prices.
  • Residential and commercial sites with eligible battery storage, HVAC, or EV charging may qualify after utility authorization and equipment review.
  • Leap requires at least 100 kW aggregated across participating utilities for DLRP and CSRP. SCR requires at least 150 kW, with 500 kW recommended. SCR may impose nonperformance penalties.
