The Maryland Residential and Commercial Energy Storage Program provides state funding to help eligible Maryland property owners purchase and install grid-connected battery energy storage systems.
How the Program Works
Applicants use a two-step process: reserve funds before installation, then complete the project and submit the required documentation to claim the award. For fiscal year 2026, residential awards were calculated as the lower of 30% of eligible installed costs or $5,000.

Steps to enroll
Enrollment is easy and done entirely through the Tigo EI App or EI Portal
- Confirm the Tigo system is installed, commissioned, connected to the internet, and approved for interconnection.
- Open the Tigo EI App or EI Portal
- Click Battery Incentive Programs from the systems dashboard section (under Today and Lifetime Metrics)
- Select the available program, review the details, complete the enrollment form, and submit it for approval.
