During Beat the Peak alerts, participating batteries discharge stored energy so the home draws less electricity from the grid. This helps Delaware Electric Cooperative reduce costly peak demand and can help keep rates affordable for members.
Incentive and Eligibility
- Participants may be eligible for up to $2,000 in bill credits.
- Credits are paid at the end of the summer season.
- The amount is based on battery-system size and the energy dispatched during Beat the Peak alerts.
- Delaware Electric Cooperative members with an installed battery, or those considering a battery purchase, may be eligible.
- Tigo Energy is listed by the Cooperative as a compatible battery manufacturer.
How to Enroll
Members enroll through the app or website used to manage their battery system. Tigo customers can follow the Battery Incentive Program Enrollment Guide for enrollment steps. Review the official Delaware Electric Cooperative program page for current terms, compatibility, and assistance.
Members enrolled in Beat the Peak With Thermostats will be automatically unenrolled from the thermostat program when they join Beat the Peak With Batteries.
Steps to enroll
Enrollment is easy and done entirely through the Tigo EI App or EI Portal
- Confirm the Tigo system is installed, commissioned, connected to the internet, and approved for interconnection.
- Open the Tigo EI App or EI Portal
- Click Battery Incentive Programs from the systems dashboard section (under Today and Lifetime Metrics)
- Select the available program, review the details, complete the enrollment form, and submit it for approval.
