The ODEC Battery Program rewards eligible BARC Electric Cooperative members in Virginia for allowing enrolled batteries to support the grid during periods of high demand.
How the Program Works
The current published pathway combines an upfront payment based on battery nameplate power with an annual performance payment based on average power delivered during program events.
What to Know
- Events may be called during the summer season from June through September.
- Events can occur between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern Time and are expected to average three hours.
- Up to 30 events may be called each year, with no more than one event per day.
- Equipment, interconnection, and provider requirements apply.

Steps to enroll
Enrollment is easy and done entirely through the Tigo EI App or EI Portal
- Confirm the Tigo system is installed, commissioned, connected to the internet, and approved for interconnection.
- Open the Tigo EI App or EI Portal
- Click Battery Incentive Programs from the systems dashboard section (under Today and Lifetime Metrics)
- Select the available program, review the details, complete the enrollment form, and submit it for approval.
