Job Description

Tigo is seeking a motivated Junior NPI Engineer to support new product introduction projects from both technical and operational aspects. As part of the NPI Operations team, you will assist in managing the transition of new products from R&D to mass production, ensuring products are ready for manufacturing and meet defined requirements.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience in cross-functional collaboration, production processes, and product lifecycle management.

This position is based at our HQ in Los Gatos, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Support the transition of new products from design to production.
  • Assist in building and maintaining Product/Production files, including:
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Product documentation
    • Jigs, tools, and fixture documentation/design support
    • DFX (Design for Excellence) activities
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support NPI activities.
  • Support technical communication and coordination with suppliers (local and overseas).
  • Assist in implementing engineering changes (ECO, MCO, waivers, deviations) and maintaining configuration control.
  • Help define and update manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, test procedures, work instructions, etc.).
  • Provide support to ongoing production processes and equipment.
  • Participate in training subcontractors and production teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • B.Sc. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
    • Knowledge and experience in drafting using 3D software.
    • Self-motivated, self-maintained, independent, and problem solving oriented.
    • Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
    • Must be willing to travel up to 25% domestic and international.
    • Ability to drive improvements.

    Preferred:

    • 0-2 years of experience as an NPI engineer or Manufacturing Engineer.
    • Experience in building production files and leading engineering changes.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
    • Experience in mechanical design and electro-mechanical manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of electronic components and PCBA manufacturing processes.
    • Understanding test equipment and fixture design.
    • Emerging leadership skills and ability to take initiative.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multi-functional teams.
