Umesh Padval, a partner in Bessemer’s Menlo Park, Calif. office, joined the firm in 2007. At Bessemer, he focuses on the IT and clean-tech sectors. Umesh brings to the Tigo Energy Board more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and general management in areas including computing, mobile communications and consumer-digital entertainment.

He joined Bessemer from LSI Logic, where he was executive vice-president of the consumer-products group. Umesh came to LSI Logic via its acquisition of C-Cube, a public company where he served as president and CEO. Previously, Umesh held management positions at VLSI Technology, serving as executive vice-president of the consumer and computing products groups. He began his career at Advanced Micro Devices. Umesh also has extensive global work experience, having established R&D centers in both China and India starting in the late 1990s.

Umesh holds a bachelor’s of technology from the Indian Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University. He is also active on advisory boards at Stanford.
